Curtain Wall
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
This $16 million theater for performing arts was funded in part by actress Annette Benning, and was dedicated by the San Diego Unified School District. The entrance featured a curtain wall system with 40 foot clear vertical spans at the interior. With no location in the lobby suitable for wind load support, a custom designed bracket was designed to support the curtain wall from the exterior side of the framing. A modified sunshade bracket was utilized to tie the curtain wall to an architectural wood structure.
